Futsal

Futsal
is a five-a-side indoor version of Soccer. It is a very
dynamic and energetic sport that can be played by all ages
and by both genders. It is a fast growing sport which has
its own World Cup and professional leagues in Brazil and
Spain.

Opportunity
exists for all Australian players to represent their region,
state or country. In 2003/04 twenty-six Warwick players
were selected in Southwest Queensland representative teams
- four to State teams and two to New Zealand to tour with
a development squad. |

Futsal
began in Warwick in 2000 and has been going strong since.
Currently around 120 players are involved in Senior, Junior
and Mixed Competitions at WIRAC.

Junior
Futsal

A
separate competition for Junior Futsal is run each school
Term at WIRAC on Thursday afternoons. There are three age
groups:
6 to 8years play at 3.30pm
9 to 12years play at 4.30pm
High School play at 5.30pm |
Senior
Futsal
WIRAC
run a Winter and a Summer competition each year.
The
Winter season runs from May to August.
The Summer season runs from October to March.

Mixed
Futsal
Two
6-week mixed futsal competitions are run each year. The seasons
are run between the Senior Futsal Seasons during April/May &
Sept/Oct.

Junior
BasketBall
WIRAC
runs a Summer and a Winter Basketball competition each year. Competition
is held on Monday afternoons during School Terms. Players are
divided into three groups based on age and ability.
Group 1 (Beginners) and Group 2 (Intermediate) are held from 3.30
to 4.45pm.
Group 3 (12yrs and over) is held from 4.45pm to 6.00pm.
Players train for 30 minutes and then have a game.
Senior
Basketball
Warwick
Basketball Association organises two Men’s & Women’s
competitions each year during Autumn and Spring. Games are played
on Wednesday evenings.

Netball
Club
Warwick
Netball Association organise A-Grade & B-Grade competitions.
A-Grade games are played on Tuesday nights and B-Grade on Monday
nights. Separate Autumn and Spring competitions are run each year.
