Over 150 years ago, Warwick opened the first free school in Queensland and Warwick has been leading the way in education ever since.

There are more than 20 schools in the Shire, including a number of quality private schools. A total of 4,100 school students are educated in Warwick Shire - 2,500 in primary schools and 1,600 in secondary schools. Schools which offer Years 11 and 12 include Warwick High, The SCOTS PGC College and School of Total Education.

Post-school education is catered for at the Southern Queensland Institute of TAFE Campus at Warwick and access to the Open Learning Centre.

It is only a 55-minute drive north to the University of Southern Queensland in Toowoomba, an internationally recognised University.
